FOR MOISTURE
FLOODING
FOR INTERNAL BREAKS
1.-The first thing to do is to have your Home Insurance Policy at hand, and check the telephone number or the telephone number of the Mediator where you made the Policy.
2.-Communicate with your insurance company and explain what happened. Do not even call the Community to inform them, this is done directly by the private insurances with the community insurance to reach an agreement.
Once you notify your insurance company, they will send a repairer or an expert to check the damage.
4.-They will carry out the repair in your home and then if it is a problem of the community they will claim the costs from the community. Keep in mind that each home insurance has a cost between 100 and 200 € per property and the insurance of the community in proportion will only be between 40 and 60 € per property, therefore the individual insurance of your home has more coverage and guarantees than that of the community.
5.-Request a damage report and repair details.
Please note:
Individual Home Insurance (for your home) usually provides a more favourable service and a faster service than Community Insurance.
Individual Home Insurance (for your home) usually covers cosmetic damage.
Demand that your Home Insurance (of your home) to repair immediately and not to wait for the Community insurance, then to claim to the Community.
It is better to call the Mediator who was the person who contracted your Home insurance rather than directly to the 900 numbers that the company has a central number, it is easier and safer.
Do not make statements such as this or that, that is for the surveyor or repairer to determine, if he says something that does not fit in with the policy conditions, the repair will be refused.
Do not make the notification with details, later when the expert or the repairer is present you indicate the damages.
Do not attempt to describe what happened in detail or try to determine the origin of the damage yourself. You may make a mistake and cause an automatic rejection by the insurer.
Avoid saying that water is leaking, just indicate that the wall is wet.
Ask for a written report and instructions when you are visited by the surveyor or repairer.
In case of extreme urgency, you can call a repairer to stop the cause of the damage and then submit the bill to the insurance company.
It is important to remember that it is better to call the person who sold you the insurance first and not the company’s general telephone number, which tends to cause more problems.
